The Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College Charter School (RINI-MC) is the first charter school in the United States dedicated to the nursing profession and the first middle college in Rhode Island.
Our dynamic four-year program that bridges high school to college, so that students may graduate with nursing knowledge and a high school degree. In creating the highly-educated, compassionate, diverse and professional nursing workforce of tomorrow, RINI-MC is meeting the needs of our nation’s patients and the healthcare industry.
RINI-MC’s world-class faculty includes certified secondary education teachers, professors, scholars and nursing leaders from the region’s distinguished health care organizations, colleges and universities. A multi-site campus, modern classrooms and laboratories result in a college-like learning experience.
Students at RINI-MC commit to a rigorous education curriculum featuring a much stronger emphasis on mathematics and science as compared with other high school and middle college programs. RINI-MC was named as one of RI’s Top Ten Schools by the Rhode Island Campaign for Achievement Now (RI-CAN, 2012) for successfully narrowing achievement gaps among low-income, African-American and Hispanic students.
RINI-MC is a member of the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools, a group of innovative RI public charter schools dedicated to improving educational experiences and outcomes for RI students from kindergarten through 12-plus with dynamic, innovative education programs.
